Online and Telephone Consultations
Dr. Shearer provides a telephone and online consultation service where she listens to your concerns about your pet's health care. These consultations are helpful for pet owners who have pets with multiple or complicated diseases or multiple doctors where information needs to be assimulated.
She carefully reviews all prescribed medications and double checks for drug side effects or interactions. She even shares thoughts on making sure the behaviorial changes associated with aging or disease is addressed. If a diagnosis has been made, she can explain the disease in terms that are easily understood and what to expect based on the course of therapy.
Dr. Shearer will then share with you insights on treatment options that meet you and your pet's needs. She can also provide a list of alternative therapies that could be safely incorporated into the pet's care.
She helps faciliate additional treatment by the pet's veterinarian when asked or can find advanced care facilities in the area.
Upon request, she is happy to share her insights with the pet's veterinarian or keep the consultation confidential. Her fees for online and telephone consultations range from $85 to $150.00.
You can make your appointment directly with Dr. Shearer or she can facilitate referral from your vet by contacting them on behalf of your pet.
She accepts referrals from all veterinarians with patients in need of rehabilitation or hospice care.
